Eternal Mourning: Indie Folk

Eternal Mourning is a Montreal-based folk and indie rock band blending raw emotion, vivid storytelling, and textured musicianship into a deeply evocative sound. Drawing from folk, indie rock atmospheres, grunge intensity, and cinematic spaghetti-western textures, their music moves between intimacy and tension, balancing fragile melodies with immersive arrangements.

Their debut album A Draft was released in 2024, followed by What I Saw Is History in 2025. Both records explore themes of memory, conflict, and human vulnerability, carried by songs that shift between quiet reflection and powerful sonic landscapes.

Michel Mezher is originally a drummer, a background that deeply impact his approach to the bass. Having taken up the bass in recent years, he has developed a bass style that is both solid and melodic, with a strong sensitivity to the band’s dynamics. His influences span a wide spectrum from classical music to hard rock, as well as alternative rock, jazz, and fusion. Shaping an expressive and nuanced approach.
